We are delighted to be able to share that following the October half-term we’ll have not only have some Scouts and Explorers meeting face to face but some Cubs too. These sessions are immensely important to and rewarding for the young people.

We are only allowed to take 15 young people at a time; we’ll therefore be rotating the young people each week giving all those youth section members an opportunity each month. We will be using our Online Scout Manager provision to communicate events, coordinate sign-up and track attendance etc.

Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis; however, priority for the following opportunities will be given to those who missed in the first week, and so-on. This has been working well for the Scouts and Explorers and others in Scouting.

At this time, our Beavers will continue to work through their fantastic packs the leader team have assembled. We will review and see what’s possible in the New Year for our 6-8-year-olds potentially meeting face-to-face.

To keep these events safe and to be able to continue to offer them, specific guidance will be shared for each event. You must read and adhere to the guidance they include. It’s also important that if you sign up a young person that they attend. It’s unfair on those who’ve not secured a place if young people don’t come along, especially with no notice. If self-isolation is necessary, we completely understand – we just ask to be kept informed.

Thank you!

Scouting is seen as essential under all three current tiers. At a National level, UK Scouting work with both the UK Government and the National Youth Agency to set the COVID safe criteria we are adhering to. Should local variations or a national full lockdown alter this, we would advise accordingly.
