As lockdown 2.0 ended, Scouting in England returned to an amber status. UK Government see Scouting as an essential youth provision – as such, we are allowed to meet face-to-face under any of the non-lockdown restrictive tiers.

This means: Restricted size group sessions can take place outdoors and indoors. Penistone Scouts are therefore reintroducing our outdoor meetings for the older sections (Cubs, Scouts and Explorers). Beavers will continue to meet virtually for the time being.

Maximum group size: Activities involving young people are limited to 15 young people plus 5 supporting adults. Given the size of the group, this means we will run the same outdoor program for two consecutive weeks. Those who do not secure a place during week one will be given priority in week two.

Other notes: Face coverings should be worn by all Scouts and older when indoors, adults delivering activity to young people are not required to wear a face covering. Social distancing must be observed at all times.

Please look out for invitations via Online Scout Manager to the upcoming face-to-face sessions.
