On Monday 3rd December our youth sections, parents, guardians, relatives, friends of the group and even the Mayor of Penistone met at St. John’s Church for the group’s annual carol service.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone who attended. We were really pleased to be able to seat so many of you – the small change of having the beavers and cubs at the front of the church made a big difference. We took feedback from previous years and made the service slightly shorter, more about the carols and the young people. We’ll continue to develop the service, and look forward to hosting another exciting celebration next year.

Donation update

At the end of the service, refreshments were available with donations (in lieu of payment) going to Ghana OutlookWe raised £135! Thank you so much to everyone who gave so generously. We have topped this up by £25 to bring the total to £160. This means we’ll be able to fund 10 double desks and chairs for the Ghanaian school linked with Penistone Scouts (posts on this to follow in the near future).

Before we get to the pictures from our Carol Service, if you’d like to make a donation to the help provide school desks/chairs to 400 young people in Ghana, who currently have to sit on the floor of their school for lessons, you may do so online using the special PayPal donation link/button we’ve provided below. £16 pays for one double desk and two chairs – any donation amount is gratefully received. Thank you!
