This weekend, twenty of Scorpion Explorers have been on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition.

It’s been interesting to say the least- definitely more than the 14km planned has been walked by most teams with some interesting deviations! The sun was hot but everyone managed really well drinking an average of 3.5 litres each after refills.

Evening meals went down a treat and were well earned. One group even had pink wafer biscuits and green tea for supper- that’s a first!

All are in good spirits though they have yet to rise this morning and there will be a few blisters to tend to I suspect.

Last nights route planning may lead to some interesting reading today but hopefully some lessons will have been learned and all will be back on time.

Breakfast is the next challenge- bring on the bacon!
