Every couple of years, the opportunity comes to join other groups from South Yorkshire County for a large camping event at Hesley Wood Scout Activity Centre. With COVID restrictions easing but still very limiting, it hasn’t been possible for such an event.
That hasn’t stopped our County Team from planning. As we head out of lockdown, all young people in South Yorkshire have the opportunity to join South Yorkshire Scouts’ Virtual County Camp, aka “Scoutfest.”
“We are going to host our first ever Virtual Camp Live from Hesley Wood Scout Camp.
Activities over the weekend will aim towards all sections completing parts of their Chief Scout Awards as well as plenty of Virtual Activities, Events and Games.”

Individuals can sign up to receive notifications about the event; however, groups can also sign up.
Given that several of the Penistone team are helping to organise Scoutfest, we’re going to set up the overall event in Online Scout Manager, with instructions shared closer to the weekend explaining how you can take part.
All you need to do for now is save the date.
