Fifteen of Penistone Scouts are heading to the World Scout Jamboree in 2019. To help raise monies towards this epic trip, they will begin to cycle the distance between Penistone and West Virginia, USA (the location of the jamboree) – that’s a staggering 3,710 miles!
Given that there’s quite a lot of water on the jamboree route, our scouts will begin by pedalling some of the distance using exercise bikes. We know we won’t hit the full 3,710 miles in one day, we’ll have other continuation challenges later in the year.
Please pop along and support the young people, enjoy a drink and a sweet treat – we’d love to see you for our own event within an event: Tour de Jamboree! We will have donation buckets at the refreshment stall; all monies raised will go directly into helping fund the young people’s £3,800 per person cost.
