Our brave Scouts (and even braver leaders) took on the freezing February temperatures during our latest camp at Hesley Wood. Thankfully, they’ve all now thawed out enough to fill us in on what they got up to.

On arrival, the first job was to pitch the tents. The cold weather meant they were up in record time and hot chocolates were soon being demolished.

With all tents pitched successfully, it was time to explore. With over 30 activities for everyone to get involved in, it certainly was a jam-packed weekend! The quad bikes and carnival rides were a huge hit and it was great to see the troop working together to complete the scavenger hunt and orienteering (promise we didn’t lose anyone!). The Scouts’ competitive side was on show during the axe throwing and archery and some new skills were learnt over at the climbing wall and during bushcraft.

By evening, everyone was exhausted (you might say we planned it well!). The campfire was lit and we got together to celebrate Alfie, Daniel and Sam’s birthdays and enjoy some cake.

On Sunday we were back out in the woods for more activities in what was the biggest Freezer Camp yet. We’re now counting down to the next camp – and very happy that it should be a lot warmer!
