Suspension of face-to-face activities
All face-to-face Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer meetings, activities and events are suspended from Tuesday, 17 March 2020. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.
We must continue to respond to the developing situation in a calm, measured and appropriate way. We will continue to follow official guidance. The safety of everyone involved in Scouts, both young people and adults, is our number one priority. That is always at the heart of our decision making.
Scouting at home
We are planning to share activities for young people to do at home with parents or carers. We will be communicating more about this soon.
Planned events
Where we have events planned, we are assessing the viability of postponement before cancellation. We will share with those affected in due course.
Doing our bit
The UK Chief Commissioner, Tim Kidd, has shared, “I think we all agree that it’s in challenging times like these, that our Scout values matter most. We are talking to the Government and other community organisations to see how Scouts can support our country during this crisis. We must make sure that we do this in the safest possible way, and don’t put anyone at further risk. We will update you more on this over the coming weeks.”
Keeping up-to-date
Given that things change on a regular basis, we have a dedicated page on our web-site that will give the most up-to-date status of Scouting in Penistone. You can access this via the Coronavirus (COVID 19) link at the top of the web-site, or go directly it at the following link.
Thank you for your support,
