Fast Forward: Edition 13 – the week ahead

Each Sunday, as part of our "Rewind" series we normally look back over our week of Scouting - recapping and linking back to posts of the week. It's been the holidays, so this week it's a "Fast Forward" post instead - letting you know about meetings this week and events ahead.

Happy New Year!

It’s a brief update this time as Group Leaders are busy meeting and making plans for an exciting 2020 – more information here soon.

The week ahead (6th January 2020 onwards)

Group (all sections)

Section meetings this week

All sections (except Enigma Scouts) will meet for their first sessions of the new term this week as normal. We’re looking forward to sharing holiday news, welcoming new members and looking ahead to events this year.

Enigma will meet back for their first session on Monday 13th January instead of this week (due to a Leader meeting).

Volunteering – Information Session – Monday 20th January from 19:30

Hopefully you’ve seen Rob’s recent post about potential changes to section structures. To find out more about these difficult decisions, to offer your help or suggestions please see the post here and come to the information session at Penistone Grammar School on Monday 20th January from 19:30.

You’ll be able to find out about volunteering opportunities and the training and support you’d get. You can speak to our current leaders and volunteers about what they do and why they do it. There’s also more about volunteering on the national Scouting website.

Please spread the word and get involved!

Diary dates and future events

Please keep an eye on the calendar for other events coming up soon.

Wishing you all a happy and active 2020…

  1. It would be worth posting details of the volunteering – information evening on the community action Penistone Facebook page. There has recently been a post of the same thread regarding guides and it attracted several replies.

    1. Thanks Adele. Community Action Penistone and others continue to help share information on this. We’re very grateful for everyone’s support.
