It’s the last weekend of September which can mean only one thing: it’s our group camp!
Friday saw the staggered arrival of 150 young people spanning our Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections. Once tent allocation was out-of-the-way, Campfire Dave led the group in a campfire. Thank you for coming down Dave. Much appreciated. The remainder of Friday was rounded off with a couple of capture the flag style wide-games plus hot chocolate and hot-dogs.
Saturday morning saw the usual early risers (5:30 am anyone?!?) Once breakfasted, divided into groups and details of the three zones we’re running today were explained, the young people headed out on to their activities.
We have a fantastic blend of activities on offer:
- Archery
- Rocket launching
- Bouldering wall
- First Aid training
- Fire building/knife skills
- Bugs
- Dreamcatchers
- Tie Dye T-shirts
- Crate stacking
- Birds of prey
- Air rifles
- Axe throwing
- Pioneering
